MORE ON THE BANDS…

KAV – 10:30pm –
www.kavblaggers.com

Hailing from Leicester & spending most of his time between Los Angeles & London, KAV has found his home in pure song- driven Rock N’ Roll with an electro-under-current.

KAV has been described as many things; ‘A Latterday Jagger’ by the Guardian UK & ‘One in a million artists’ by Kerrang Radio’. Sounding somewhere between Bob Dylan, Primal Scream,Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, The Rolling Stones Them Crooked Vultures & The Stooges.

KAV has had many supporters over the years from the likes of the late Tony Wilson, to Howard Marks (Mr Nice) who he recently collaborated with his release ‘The Mr Nice EP’, surrounding the release of Howard’s biopic film ‘Mr Nice’.

Working & touring with various musical greats over the past few years, his influences come from far & wide. He has an unrelenting dedication & passion for music.
KAV has not only played guitar for the legendary Happy Mondays, but he helped reform the band with Shaun Ryder in 2004 & co-wrote single Playground Superstar & album Uncle Dysfunktional.

RED N PINK – 9:45pm
www.myspace.com/REDNPINKMUSIC

With a fusion of, Indie-Punk, Electro-Soul and Hip Hop, the pair have been delighting and exciting crowds across London with their energy-packed live show.

The girls have been presenting the online music show at The Monarch for 2 months now, its about time they took to the stage themselves with their full band.

NME – acts you must hear no4

“Fractures really would be insane not to release their tune ‘Alone’ properly2

MOON VISIONARIES – 8:15pm
www.myspace.com/MOONVISIONARIES

We love this band, they have some great videos, check out ‘Special is you’

“Moon Visionaries describe themselves as writing, ‘indie-pop-walking-down-the-street-rock kind of songs’. This kind of sans-bullshit attitude is precisely what makes us smile about them. It’s the kind of unashamed, feel-good, glossy groove-pop that scores of ‘defiantly lo-fi’ bands probably wish they could muster, rather than having to hide their lack of choruses in lathering fuzz.”

Sissy And The Blisters – Let Her Go – Track Of The Day – QTheMusic.com

Broccoli favorites Sissy And The Blisters new single “Let Her Go” can now be streamed online exclusively as Q Magazines ‘Track of the Day’

Like “Cousin Sissy” in Hot Fuzz, Sissy And The Blisters confusingly feature no girls and from the fuzzed up sound of their guitar, the insult version of sissy does apply either.

Instead the Guilford band, signed to renown talent spotting label Fierce Panda, have crafted a new EP (out Otcober 3), of which this track Let Her Go is the lead, that envokes weather beaten leathers and motorbike fumes.

And it’s got good pedigree.

“Let Her Go is one of a few songs we wrote when we were really into the chord progressions that were used by The Ramones. It slowly developed into something totally different but kept those elements,” says organist Nick Benton.

“At one point we tried to change it so much that we went too far and had to strip it right back until we ended up with what you hear now. Lyrically it’s one of our favourite songs. Our singer James describes it as fear, self-sobatage, and the realisation you may have made a mistake.”
