SOLDIER – 9:45pm
www.soundcloud.com/soldier

Birmingham band Soldier hit the Roots stage on the main support slot. No other London dates planned so don’t miss your chance to see them live.

“Soldier sound a bit like Supergrass and they’ve got really hooky tunes. The singer’s voice is something else and he’s pretty ballsy. I love his name too. He calls himself Scott Balboa, after Rocky. How cool is that?”
Lee Newell from Brother on his favourite new act – NME

HOWLIN’ CIRCUS – 9pm
www.facebook.com/howlincircus

We’ve been chasing this band for a while now and have finally got them onto the Roots stage!

“Conjuring images of cattle ranching in the Summer, Howlin’ Circus combine raucous guitars with melodic vocals, tales of trepidation and unexpected harmonies…
it is in this era of instant gratification that the band, inspired by generations of emotion and energy, is bound to leave a lasting impression on the heart.”

THE 335 – 8:15pm

Rock n Roll legendary London 3 piece THE 335 open the show so get down early.

KAV @ Roots August 18th 2011

Hailing from Leicester & spending most of his time between Los Angeles & London, KAV has found his home in pure song- driven Rock N’ Roll with an electro-under-current.

KAV has been described as many things; ‘A Latterday Jagger’ by the Guardian UK & ‘One in a million artists’ by Kerrang Radio’. Sounding somewhere between Bob Dylan, Primal Scream,Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, The Rolling Stones Them Crooked Vultures & The Stooges.

KAV has had many supporters over the years from the likes of the late Tony Wilson, to Howard Marks (Mr Nice) who he recently collaborated with his release ‘The Mr Nice EP’, surrounding the release of Howard’s biopic film ‘Mr Nice’.

Working & touring with various musical greats over the past few years, his influences come from far & wide. He has an unrelenting dedication & passion for music.

KAV has not only played guitar for the legendary Happy Mondays, but he helped reform the band with Shaun Ryder in 2004 & co-wrote single Playground Superstar & album Uncle Dysfunktional.

KAV’s track Blaggers N’ Liars. Video shot & edited by Martin J Pickering
remix by our good mates Infadels members Matt Gooderson & Richie Vernon of Infadels.

STAGE TIMES:
THE LYSERGIC SUITE – 10:30pm
THE DASH – 9:45pm
THE VOXX – 9pm
ECHOES – 8:15

***********************************************************

Headlining the show…

THE LYSERGIC SUITE
www.myspace.com/thelysergicsuite

2010 was a massive year for The Lysergic Suite, and according to band founder Gren, things have only just started. The debut E.P “Ghosts On Crusade” which features the legendary Tom Meighan from Kasabian is out now and the band are now in the studio recording their debut album.

Recorded in the bands own studio in Leicester, The E.P is a mix of dirge guitars and chemical synths… But then it would be, as it was mixed by Tim Holmes from “Death In Vegas” at The Contino Rooms, London. Contino was host to “Liam Gallagher” for Scorpio Rising and Iggy Pop for “Aisha”.

The album, due out mid 2011, also features Jay Mahler (KASABIAN), Kav (ex HAPPY MONDAYS), Tim Holmes (DEATH IN VEGAS) and Dodger (THE BLACK DOVE EXPERIMENT).

*******

+ support from…

THE DASH
http://www.wearethedash.com

Their infamous live performances leave the stage in ruins as blood, beer and sweat coat the remains of smashed and battered instruments. Seeped in passion and honesty and coated with a thick layer of London dirt, the music comes straight from the heart of every underground gutter punk club, without ignoring the impact of the unforgettable chorus.

*******

THE VOXX
http://www.thevoxx.co.uk/

The Voxx are a London based 3-piece who have been causing a buzz over the last couple of years with some mesmeric live shows throughout the UK and Europe. The trio comprising Mikey Buckley, Claude Trejonis and Daniel McLean have already played with the likes of The View, Band Of Skulls and Babyshambles, as well as at the Nu-Glam festival in Frankfurt, and VIP-IN Music in Zagreb. Their headline shows have been rapturously received, and they have just self-released their debut album.

*******

ECHOES
http://www.myspace.com/echoespop

Dark Indie Electro collective comprised of former Kid Harpoon guitarist Gavin, bassist Jordan, drummer Fabio and former The Strays guitaist Andrew. Sampling cornish waves with big beats, poetic lyrics and good time dancing tunes, this band embodies new eclectism heading towards post punk with a cheerfull outlook.
